I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute of Philosophy at USI (Università della Svizzera italiana) in Lugano, Switzerland.
My research areas are philosophy of physics, philosophy of science, and metaphysics, particularly at their intersection. My main academic interest lies in inter-level relations in science, especially reduction in physics. I also focus on foundational aspects of thermodynamics, the structure and ontology of spacetime theories, and the philosophy of quantum mechanics.
I did my PhD at the University of Bristol, supervised by James Ladyman and Karim Thébault. I’ve been a visiting researcher at the University of Pittsburgh and King’s College London. I'm an external member of the Geneva Symmetry Group, the Bristol Philosophy of Physics Group, and COSMOS network.
I’m an editor for PhilPapers in the categories Interlevel Relations in Physical Science and Functionalism in Science.
